"However, the report indicates that the Judiciary Committee is working on a tight schedule as the Senate Majority leader Bill Frist reportedly threatened that unless the Committee completes the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill by March 27, 2006, he would bypass the Senate Judiciary Committee and attempt to have his own Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill totally focusing on the border security and enforcement issues only passed by the full Senate. I think this is a valid question that is being asked and should be answered by IV core. Am always intrigued by our behind the scenes effort and the heck that is going on. I do not want to cross the line and judge the integrity on IV core, but would really like to know exactly what we are up to. At least we need to periodic conf calls and announcement of our efforts (and I understand there needs to be some secrecy with anti-immig watching us closely).

Can the members in Texas and others call on Sen. Cornyn's office and ask him to support the bill. I just called their office, and the staff says that he has no statement from the senator, and therefore has no position as of yet. I asked him about the above report, and all he offered was "no comments"
Hope IV members step up their efforts in calling the list of Senators and post their feedback on this forum. We can learn from each others feedback and bring more pressure on these legislators.

What they are calling HEAVY DEMAND from EB-3 when it has been unavailable for the last two months and before that it was stuck in 2001. There are a whole lot of visas going to EB-2 people who filed in 2006 just two years back . If a person who filed in 2001 can't get his GC compared to a person who filed in 2006 then I don't think there is any hope .
I don't find their statement acceptable . There is demand only if there is supply . If the supply is zero how can there be demand ? Even if they allocated one visa to EB-3 and there were 10 people in the line before the cut-off date that could be called heavy demand.
I don't think the Congress is going to act until after the elections ( assuming they ever do anything to bring us relief )

While IV is a big organization with 20K+ members, I haven't seen the transparency, All I have seen is tons of threads being created requesting members to donate money, However Is there any transparency in the way the money is being spent the answer is a Big NO. I have seen someone posting threads on IV tax filings (some disgruntled member for sure ) and those getting deleted within few hours....
There was also thread on the need to pass on the immigration torch to the next generation to take it further...and this is a good start if the core committee can be elected perhaps once in 2 yrs or something and any core team member wanting to re-election goes back and compete with someone who feels they can do a better job.
Without fresh blood and fresh thinking the organization will fail to attract new members.

My wife's DL renewal is pending for more than 2 months...When we contacted DMV they said its pending clearance from DHS (homeland security) and it could take take 120+ days to get their approval.

My case was wrongly put in the TR catagory for 2 years despite my efforts to get the Phili center to correct it. It was finally put into RIR in April 2007 while other cases are being approved with later PDs...... Maybe I shall wait 3 more months since they promissed to have it done this September????!!!!

i have seen so many people got approved from wells fargo on 485 pending stage???
i'm in same problem if somebody can light on this.....
Is 485 application notice and Ead plus I 140 will be enought for Refinance from well fargo?
i have current mortgage with well fargo and i'm trying to do refinance after 4 years with good credit history with no payment missed in last 4 years.
any help would be really helpful to talk with wells fargo

I don't know if anyone of you has ever gotten on a rush hour train in mumbai. But before leaving for the US, a wise man told me that going to the US is like getting on a train in Mumbai, it's a struggle to get in. You'll have to push, shove, maybe stand on the footboard for a while. But once you get in, hold on tight until you get to your station.....
Phew.. I have traveled all three lines(searching for jobs/attending interviews - Early 90s it was not that bright for tech jobs). Still some people standing and reading news papers in that crowd.

However we are falling short of the $2000 target for today. Will we make it, or will we let ourselves down?
Remember everyone BUT us immigrants wants us to fail. The anti-immigrants are WELL funded lobby. They ask for help from their members and they get a TON of it. All we ask on IV's behalf is $5.00 for now.
