I heard a fascinating interview of Kati Marton by Bob Edwards this weekend and am going to buy her new book Enemies of the People. The Hungarian-born Ms. Marton is a former ABC News reporter and NPR international correspondent. Journalism is in her blood. Has anyone seen today's Fox News "The Journal Edition Report". In the last-section of the this programme the journalists talk about this week's "hits and misses". One of the journalist was talking about the injustice done to LEGAL immigrants because of latest visa bulletin stuff.

It is not that important, but I thought I should write in case someone is watchnig news at that time. It is half-an-hour programme and that segment "hits and misses" comes after the last-break (I think during last 10 minutes).

No. You can file two I-140 petitions from the same employer and your approved H-1B for three years is not in trouble. I don't blame you for your deepest concern in this issue, as USCIS made each and everyone of us so concerned about our every walk of our life.

My friend John Lamb is an in house corporate lawyer by day and an immigration reform activist in his spare time. Maybe the fact that he's outside the immigration law world gives him some room for thinking outside the box since he's often coming up with creative approaches to changing immigration law. first labor approved in may 2006 under EB3
140 was approved in 2007
Since I already had masters before I joined the company
EB2 labor applied and received approval in Jan 2011
My attorney applied for 140 porting but received priority date as Jan 2011 instead of may 2006. My attorney says immigrations has made a mistake, attorney contacted them and received a reference number basically asking attorney to call back on Jun 1st. I'm concerned on what went wrong and what could be the worst case scenario. How much time are talking about here.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

My sister is in US in Visitor Visa with I-94 expiration date of Nov 25th 2009. We would like to convert her status from B2 to F1 Visa ASAP.
1) Do you know anyone who has changed the status from B2 and F1? If yes, can you share the experience?
2) Is it risky to do that? What kinds of problem we may encounter?
3) Can she stay in US while F1 is pending? what happens if rejection shows up after her current i-94 expiration date?
4) Is it better to go home country and apply for the F1 Visa or it is safer to change the the status in US.
Any advise you can throw will be appreciated.

Yes, I did get a business checkin card. Credit card, I guess, I can get only when the EIN number develops some history. Do you already have a business checking card?
