Marrying is like buying a company, you have a moral obligation to account for any liabilities she may have.
Understand, she may have been the sole income earner in India for her parents. It doesnot hurt for you to send say 200-300 dollars every month. 700 dollars every month from your check is not that big deal (350 for each family). Don't make it a long term solution.
You have filed 485, what stops your wife from getting a job here?? Does she want to stay at home, watch TV and enjoy life? if she thinks that way, let her know, if she wants to send money to her parents long term, she needs to get out of house, find a job

From Sept 2008 visa bulletin: "The Mexico F2A and Employment Third preference cut-off dates are �unavailable� for both August and September, since those FY-2008 annual limits have been reached. The Visa Office had originally anticipated that this would be a temporary situation. Then with the start of the new fiscal year in October the cut-off dates would have returned to those which had applied during June. However, continued heavy demand in those categories may require the establishment of cut-off dates which are earlier than those which had applied in June. I think we must do something for EB3 category. BTW when is congress coming back from recess? Can we do something on the visa recapture bill??

But every other EB group is getting help from somewhere. For EB3-I, forget getting help, we are actually losing every day forward.

We're much better off here in the US when you compare our compatriots suffering in Britain. Britain has enforced a lot more regulations on immigrants, much to their chagrin.

I don't think we can do 'anything' about EB3 I. We are 100% at the mercy of USA (politicians, USCIS, DOS or whoever).
We can write letters, emails, fax, contribute to IV but nothing is gonna help. This is the fact!
We are not going to get our GC when we need it but only when they give it. And, it is not going to happen anytime sooner.
The options that we have in front of us (which would work for sure):
1. Live with this. Don't come to any forum, don't think about VISA bulletin. Take your Gc when it comes to your doorstep. May be by then, we may not need it. We may be tired of being on the same job and GC may not bring any motivation to our career.
2. Move over to EB2 - If possible, take all the pains of changing job, place of living, unpredictability in PERM queue and I140 queue and move over to EB2. But you never know. One of our Indian brothers might have just won a lawsuit to stop us from moving over!! In that sense, EB3 I is worst than illegals. Least wanted legals in the USA!!
3. Get out of this country - Give up the American dream and come to reality and start a new dream. May be Canadian dream or Australian dream...

No guarantee that this would work. But, we will get a first hand response that may atleast help us to chose from one of 3 options listed above.

In months of June, Jul and Aug , many EADs & APs are up for renewal due to July07 fiasco. So by moving dates forward, USCIS can cash in lot of reveue as it has to issue only 1 yr EAD in that case. If the dates are not current, they will have to issue 2 yr EAD and although they dont mean to approve many cases, I tend to think they will keep moving dates forward.

First of all why do U wanna ask that? Its an employment based visa that ur GC is based on. So, ur employer shud ask that. Why are u asking IVans to do something which is not in their control??? Just a thought that there are other anti immigrant groups also visiting our website. We are frustrated and angry but all these comments that we are writing are also read by other people and will be used against us to make things harder. Also the general feeling is that American people dont really care or want to understand about GC. For them especially groups like NumberUSA etc want us out. I am EB3-India with PD of August 2003. I am anticipating at least another 2 years. Any forward movement in any category is good news to me.

They have families and above all they have a life. IV is not paying for their family or anything, so they have to work and earn for their livelihood. They do all this in their spare time, and not like you, who always end up criticizing.

USCIS to Issue Two-Year EAD for I-485 Waiters at End of June 2008
The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security announced on 06/09/2008 that the DHS would start issuing two-year EAD beginning from end of June 2008 for the I-485 filers. Hooray!
Announcement: "I'm also pleased to announce that we will be extending the validity period of the employment authorization documents that we issue to individuals who are waiting adjustment of status to lawful permit residenture or in colloquial phrase, the green card. Currently, adjustment applications are granted employment authorization documents with only a one year maximum validity. Beginning later this month, we'll start issuing these documents with a two-year validity period for aliens who are waiting adjustment of status if their application is expected to be pending for more than a year. This, again, is eliminating a persistent source of frustration for workers who are here, who have a pending adjustment application but have to go and renew their employment documents every single year. It's going to cut the paperwork there."
That is the victory due to our admin fixes campaign. Your thousands of letters are working here.

The whole process of making final announcements is just too slow!!
We recently had another meeting to discuss one more admin fix item that has not been addressed yet and was part of our letters. Let us hope some decision comes out soon enough.

BOA is now asking me for I-94. In my I-94 it is stamped as"Paroled until July 29th 2010" - will they interpret this as my valid stay in the US being only till July 29th? Not sure how I can explain this to them

Pardon my ignorance.... Can you enlighten me as how Vertical and Horizontal spillover works ? What exactly happens in Vertical spillover and how is it different from horizontal.
horizonal is unused visa's from a category flow down to other categories this way:
EB2 ROW -> EB2India + EB2China -> EB3 ROW -> EB3 I+C, or
EB2 ROW -> EB2India + EB2China -> EB3 (ROW+I+C)
there is some controversity about the last one, some people believe it flows through EB3 ROW and comes down, others say EB3 is all treated equal. Based on data in the past (the fact that EB3 India got tens of thousnads of approvals in 05 and 06 even though EB3-ROW was retrogressed, means its mostly the latter (EB3 (ROW+I+C))

When the dates move ahead, to say 2006, the 485s that get approved the most are for people whose PDs are in 2006. The 2004-2005 folks just have to keep starring!!! Then all of a sudden dates fall back to 2003...now only god knows who is yet to be approved in EB2-India before April 2003.
So what it seems like is when the dates move ahead drastically all the people who most recently applied will get approved and for the people who are stuck in backlog will see approvals only if the dates stick around their dates for atleast over a year....until then USCIS doesn't even realize that oh these people are still in queue and we need to approve them!!!
Such a BS to deal with all because of USCIS' GRACE!!!!
