Core team may not like this but I can understand your point. There is a communication gap between IV Core team and members. Core team wants to hide everything they are doing assuming that anti are reading the forum and they will know what we are doing. On other side members feel uncomfortable as nothing comes out as solid / strong plan of action. There were couple of instances were I personally felt that core talks too much among themselves and release almost zero information to members, it may be good for community overall but not good for an organization where everyone is participating directly or indirectly. By recent posts by Pappu, I think they are improving.
We need to give them a chance as anyways their act is selfless. They may be lagging in personal management but they are not bad by heart or doing anything for personal benefit.

I feel a cloud of secrecy always surrounding IV. Of course they cannot be public about all their activities, but more needs to be done on this front. But how will this help if USCIS continues to disregard PDs utterly and just approve cases that they can lay their hands on....
Due to July 2 fiasco, pretty much everyone have filed I-485...Even those with 2007 PDs.
Say USCIS recaptures Visas, makes every category current and starts approving 2007 PD cases! Even worst, due to the every category 'C', may be 2008, 2009 (when it arrives) people start applying I-485 as well, and USCIS continues to consume all the visa numbers to to approve the cases of these lucky bas*$%^&ds (no offence!) with most recent PDs. How does this help you or me with older PDs waitin for years and years ! :(

We have several bills that are being discussed to provide releif for all of us stuck in the Green Card process. We have very few dedicated volunteers working very hard and knocking the doors of representatives across the country seeking support for our bills. We need to lobby hard to get releif for all of us in this election year and lobbying is not cheap. We need dollars to keep up our lobbying efforts. We need help with raising dollars that are needed to keep working for our cause. We do not have Star Players and/or Star Athletes raising funds to support our cause. We need to do it ourselves. We all need to come together as a dedicated team with a mission to raise the targeted dollar amount. Can we do it?. Can we all step up and raise the dollars we need for our cause?.

Require 3/5 majority) HR.2669 is passed by both Senate and house and sent for conference to resolve the difference between house and senate versions and president is sure to sign the bill and thus would become the law in another few days. This amendment does not have anything to do with defence bill or with SKILL bill. Following is the actions taken by congress of HR 2669.

If anyone else wants to come forward pls. do so and take charge. Communicate with the northern CA foks and organize a combined call or seperate call. We need someone to take a leadership role in this chapter at this time. Contact each and every member in this thread and bring them together to work on IV agenda items as outliined on the link on IV homepage for chapters.

There is no official process or filing fee. Attorneys generally represent both the employer and the employee. Because revoking the petition could harm the employee, a conflict of interest arises. I may be wrong but this is just an omission in the language of the bill. The effective date was stated as the date the bill is introduced, I guess it will change to some thin like when it is signed in to law or sixty days or 180 days from that date. As I said I could be wrong, but it seemed unfair and not right to make it effective retroactively.

Personally, I think we can utilize this issue for the following:
1) Urging our congressmen/senators to pass some short-term benefits like recapture of visas (Obudsman report indicates that around 180,000 visas were not used in the past years). This is a golden opprountinity for us to urge congressmen/senators to pass a bill to release those unused numbers for getting immediate relief.
2) FBI name-check process needs to be made faster; so additional funding could help. (Obama Bill)
If we leverage this issue on the above and focus all the efforts on the above two points, we will be better off. I hope the core group is already working towards the above two objectives.

gctest, personally I don't see any issue with eb3 to eb2 porting, look at the porting opportunity from eb3 applicant's point of view, these applicants are waiting since 2001 for GCs but EB2 applicant with PDs 2005 are getting GCs, eb3 to eb2 porting is a way for them to jump ahead of 2006 eb2 filers and get their GCs, I don't see anything wrong with it, sure it causes 2003/04 eb2 filers (very few I guess) to wait a little longer but every law has a loophole and we just have to live with it,
How many eb2 filers are really qualified for eb2 labors? I see lot of consulting firms abusing eb2 labors and lot of people who are playing the game fair are left behind, I feel porting labor is a way to level the playing field, also people who filed eb3 labors in 2001, 2002 are qualified for 2005 eb2 labor anyway, just think these applicants file eb2 labor in 2005, as you said if they are not eligible they will be denied to use the opportunity and its OK if you wait a little longer

Marrying is like buying a company, you have a moral obligation to account for any liabilities she may have.
Understand, she may have been the sole income earner in India for her parents. It doesnot hurt for you to send say 200-300 dollars every month. 700 dollars every month from your check is not that big deal (350 for each family). Don't make it a long term solution.
You have filed 485, what stops your wife from getting a job here?? Does she want to stay at home, watch TV and enjoy life? if she thinks that way, let her know, if she wants to send money to her parents long term, she needs to get out of house, find a job

Issues can only be resolved if we are a strong voice, and thats what we all want to be. It takes time and we have to be patient. We are in a lot better shape than we were sometime back.

As much as I appreciate the efforts that the IV core team has put in, them being so secretive, it is almost like they have formed a cabal.
I agree with ItIsNotFunny. The very least the IV core team can do is post updates on what they are up to. That way if someone believes in a particular initiative that IV is undertaking wants to help, they can contact the concerned IV core team member and offer to help.
I am sure instead of the core team trying to burden themselves with all the work, if they let individuals who believe in particular cause to help them, then life would be a lot easier for everyone. I guess that would also get more people involved with IV.
